Meet The Spartan Hardwood Floors and Interiors Inc. Team

Hey, my name is Lars Frohnsdorf, and I am the proud owner of Spartan Hardwood Floors and Interiors Inc. for my first blog post, I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and Spartan Hardwood Flooring and Interiors with you letting you know a little bit of what we are about. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know us better.

My first introduction to hardwood installation came one day when I had the day off from work and a friend of mine who was working as a hardwood installer called me and asked me if I could help him out because he was shorthanded, I figured “why not?” and headed out to help him. That was in 2002. Working with the wood and seeing the hardwood installation once it was completed was something I really enjoyed and decided it was definitely something I wanted to explore further. That day changed everything for me. I started apprenticing with a highly skilled hardwood installer in Calgary, Alberta shortly after that. That installer taught me all kinds of skills, tips and tricks, as well as instilled a sense of pride and an expectation of quality that I apply to every project I work on to this day.

In March 2003, I launched Spartan Hardwood Floors and Interiors. Starting as a one-person installation business where I provided Prefinished Hardwood installation services to new home builders and larger flooring stores. The companies I was subcontracting to quickly found that I had a strong work ethic, great interactions with site supervisors and customers, and was capable of completing larger, more custom work for a more discerning clientele. I was getting more work than I could handle so I hired my first employee and trained him so I could keep up, and I added another to join the team shortly after. My co-worker Divahn has been a part of the Spartan Hardwood Floors team for almost 11 years now, and he is a important part of our team. He works hard, and always puts in his best effort, we are grateful to have him on the team. We have also partnered with, and continue to partner with quality renovators, and designers who have the same traditional values of honesty, integrity and quality that we at Spartan Hardwood feel are most important, so if anyone needs a recommendation, just ask us we are happy to pass along their info, you may even see some of them fill a guest spot in our blog one day.

Our services include hardwood floor supply and installation, and dustless hardwood floor refinishing. We like trying new things with hardwood floors so if you have a unique idea, hopes or dreams for your hardwood floor, ask us about it, we may be able to make it happen for you. We consistently look to improve our business practices, products and ways to better serve our clients and ensure we are offering the best value for their money.

Over the years we have managed to maintain our client base and expand as a company because we believe in building a solid relationship with each client. We take the time to listen to all our clients’ needs and wants, encouraging open communication and we also make sure to educate them about the products they are choosing as well as the process they can expect when they choose a Spartan Hardwood Floor. Our clients are often so pleased with our work that they refer us to their friends and family. We feel this is one of the highest compliments any business can receive, and are so grateful for the referrals we recieve.

There are so many parts of what we do that we enjoy, from meeting new people who become clients, and getting to know them through the process, still nothing compares to the joy and excitement when a customer sees their newly finished or installed hardwood floors for the first time.

When we are not working on a floor for a client, making custom samples or trims in the wood-shop, or meeting new clients, I enjoy playing soccer, coaching soccer, hunting, and relaxing having a beer with friends and/or family. Divahn is involved in the car scene working on cars and going to car meets and cruises, he also enjoys fitness.
